Schools in the foothills
Foothill families are served by several small districts, coordinated under the Madera County Superintendent of Schools. Boundaries can be specific, so always confirm your parcel's school with the district.
High school
Yosemite Unified School District (based in Oakhurst) covers the eastern-Madera communities - Ahwahnee, Bass Lake, Coarsegold, Fish Camp, Oakhurst, Raymond, and Wawona - and operates Yosemite High School.
Elementary & K-8 districts
- Coarsegold Union Elementary - Coarsegold and the Indian Lakes Estates area.
- Bass Lake Joint Union Elementary - the Oakhurst / Bass Lake area.
- Chawanakee Unified - North Fork and O'Neals.
- Raymond-Knowles Union Elementary - the Raymond area.
- Mariposa County Unified - Mariposa, Fish Camp, and Mariposa County.
